Shrink the photo so the form will accept it
Upload forms are allergic to camera originals. A 12 megapixel JPEG is a beautiful archive and a rejected application. Compressing in the browser lets you see the new size and a preview before you download, so you stop emailing a 9 MB file that someone will immediately re-compress badly.
Why this is worth doing in the browser
Online “optimizers” that upload the photo are the wrong default when the picture is a passport scan or a child’s face. The DevNestro Image Compressor reads the file locally, re-encodes JPEG or WebP with a quality slider, and offers PNG when you need lossless. PNG often stays large; that is honest. Use Resizer if the real problem is pixel dimensions, not only bytes.
How to use the tool
Drop the image, move quality until the preview and the size are acceptable, and download. Convert to WebP with the WebP Converter if the destination prefers that format. Record a walkthrough with Screen Recorder if you are teaching someone else the same steps.
- Start from the original export, not a screenshot of the photo.
- Lower JPEG/WebP quality until the file fits, then stop before faces look mushy.
- Use PNG only when you cannot accept lossy artefacts.
- Download and upload the compressed file, not the camera original.
Privacy
Compression runs in your browser. The image is not uploaded to DevNestro.
Fit the limit without a mystery website storing the picture. Open the Image Compressor, watch the size drop, and submit the download.
