Turn a JPEG into a PNG when you need lossless pixels
JPEG is a delivery format. PNG is what you want when the next step is a transparent overlay, a lossless archive of an already-small graphic, or a tool that refuses JPEG. Converting in the browser avoids a random upload site storing a portrait.
Why this is worth doing in the browser
Conversion does not recover detail JPEG already discarded. It also does not make a photo smaller — PNG of a camera picture is often larger. The DevNestro JPG to PNG tool is for format compatibility, not magic quality. Use PNG to JPG when you need a photo-sized file again. Use Compressor when size is the goal.
How to use the tool
Drop the JPEG, convert, and download the PNG. If you needed WebP, use the WebP Converter instead.
- Start from the best JPEG you have; conversion cannot restore lost blocks.
- Expect a larger file for photographs.
- Use PNG when the next editor or printer workflow asks for it.
- Keep the JPEG if you still need a small copy for email.
Privacy
Conversion runs in your browser. The photo is not uploaded to DevNestro.
When the next app says PNG only, do not re-screenshot the JPEG. Open JPG to PNG and download a real file.
