Rename a pile of files without opening them
A camera dump named IMG_8941 is not a filing system. People rename twenty files by hand and still mistype a date. Online renamers that “helpfully” read EXIF or document text are also reading private content. You usually only need the name you already have, an index, and a date from the file’s timestamp. A preview table stops you from discovering the mistake after you overwrite the originals. A ZIP of copies is safer than renaming in place.
Why this is worth doing in the browser
