Send a large file without a permanent cloud drive

Email rejects a 200 MB video. Chat compresses it. A permanent drive link lives longer than the reason you sent the file. Temporary file share is for the case where someone needs the original once: a recording, a zip of assets, a PDF that is too large for the ticket system.

Why this is worth doing in the browser

Consumer “share” products want an account and keep the object until you remember to delete it. DevNestro File Share accepts one file up to 16 GB, uploads it in chunks, and gives a link that works for 24 hours. After that the file and the link are gone. You can copy the URL or send the link by email — the email carries the URL, not the attachment.

How to use the tool

Drop the file, wait for the link, copy or email it. Recipients open the link and download. Use Screen Recorder when you still need to create the video. Use Secure Note when the secret is text, not a blob.

  1. Choose a file that is 16 GB or smaller and that you are willing to store on this site for a day.
  2. Wait for chunked upload to finish; cancelling stops the session.
  3. Copy the link or email it. Do not expect a multi-gigabyte mailbox attachment.
  4. Tell the recipient the deadline: 24 hours after the upload completes.

Privacy

The file is stored on this website’s own disk, not Azure Blob Storage or another object store. It is deleted after 24 hours. Recipient addresses used for optional email are not kept as a mailing list.

When the file is too big for email and too sensitive for a forever link, use a day-long share. Open File Share, upload once, and send the URL.
