Renaming runs in your browser. File contents are not uploaded and are not sent to analytics. Folder save uses the optional File System Access picker when the browser offers it. API: None.

How to rename files

  1. Choose files. Only names, types, dates, and sizes are listed.
  2. Edit the template, prefix, suffix, or find/replace.
  3. Check the preview table.
  4. Download a ZIP, or save into a folder if your browser supports it.

FAQ

Do you read the file contents to rename them?

No. Names come from the template and file metadata. Bytes are read only to write the ZIP or folder copy.

What does Save to folder do?

In browsers that support it, you pick a folder and the renamed copies are written there. Otherwise use the ZIP.

Are names sanitized?

Yes. Path characters and illegal filename characters are removed.

What if two files get the same name?

A -2, -3 suffix is added so names stay unique in the set.

Is anything uploaded?

No. Files stay on this device.
