Clean a list before you mail it or import it
Spreadsheets, exports, and “quick lists” from chat accumulate the same name twice. Send that file to a printer, a mail merge, or an import and you pay for the duplicate: two badges, two emails, a failed unique key. Cleaning the list in a text box is faster than hunting rows in a sheet when you only need unique lines.
Why this is worth doing in the browser
Copy-paste from PDFs leaves blank lines. Mixed spaces hide duplicates that a human eye treats as different. The DevNestro Remove Duplicate Lines tool trims, drops empty rows, collapses repeats, and can sort the remainder so you can scan it. That is the difference between a classroom roster that works and a giveaway that draws the same person twice.
How to use the tool
Paste the raw list, apply the cleanup options, and copy the unique result. Use it for emails, SKUs, hashtags, and test data. If the lines are in the wrong case, run the Case Converter first so “Ada” and “ADA” can collapse when you want them to.
- Paste every line, including the ones you already think are unique.
- Trim and drop blanks before you judge how many duplicates you had.
- Sort when you need to proofread, not only when the destination requires order.
- Copy the unique list and keep the original export until the import succeeds.
Privacy
The list is processed in the current session so the unique output can be shown. DevNestro does not save your roster, and there is no account.
Do not import a dirty column. Open Remove Duplicate Lines, get one row per value, and let the next system see a list that already tells the truth.
