Remove names and numbers before the text is forwarded
Support tickets, bug reports, and “can you glance at this” emails are full of addresses, phones, and IDs that the next reader does not need. Deleting by hand misses the second occurrence on page two. A privacy redactor finds common personal data types and replaces them so the story remains and the identifiers do not.
Why this is worth doing in the browser
Search-and-replace for one email leaves the phone number. The DevNestro Privacy Redactor scans for types such as emails and similar sensitive values and produces a masked copy. It will not catch every cultural name pattern in the world, and it will not make a screenshot safe — use the Screenshot Privacy Redactor for pixels. It will catch a lot of the obvious leaks in a text paste.
How to use the tool
Paste the text, review the findings, and copy or download the redacted version. Use the Prompt Privacy Checker when the destination is an AI chat. Use Document Privacy Cleaner when the problem is file metadata rather than visible sentences.
- Paste the version you were about to send, not a summary that already hides the problem.
- Check the masked preview so you still understand the document.
- Search once yourself for a unique nickname the scanner might skip.
- Share the redacted copy and keep the original in a tighter circle.
Privacy
Redaction runs in your browser. The original text is not stored as a DevNestro case file, and you do not need an account.
Forward the problem, not the passport number. Open the Privacy Redactor and send a copy that can travel.
