Run a before-publish checklist without reinventing scanners
Publishing day is when EXIF GPS, tiny captions, wrong aspect ratios, and leftover secrets slip through. Separate tools already exist on DevNestro; what was missing is an orchestrator that runs the relevant ones, normalizes findings, and deep-links to fixes — without claiming every check applies to every file type.
Why this is worth doing in the browser
DevNestro’s Before-Publish Media QA identifies the media type, then reuses Photo Metadata Cleaner / EXIF inspection, privacy and secret detectors, optional OCR, Content Credentials inspection, Safe-to-Share style scans for PDFs, and Social Safe-Area presets for aspect guidance. Video gets best-effort local checks such as resolution, aspect, file size, and sampled black-frame heuristics where the browser can decode — not a full broadcast QC suite. Findings use the shared QaFinding model (Severity, Category, Title, Description, Location, SuggestedAction, RelatedTool) also used conceptually with Spreadsheet Auditor and redaction verification. The report groups Critical, Recommendations, and Passed with links to Metadata Cleaner, Privacy Redactor, Image Resizer, Compress, Safe-Area, and Content Credentials.
How to use the tool
Drop a supported file, review the summary counts, expand Critical items first, follow fix links, then re-run. Pair with Safe-to-Share for document packets and Spreadsheet Auditor for workbook formulas.
- Do not claim all checks for every format.
- Empty Critical does not mean guaranteed safe to publish.
- Re-inspect after you strip metadata or crop.
- Video audio clipping and subtitle speed are best-effort when media APIs allow.
