Talk to Gemini Live and keep the microphone warning on the page
A live talk button is easy to mistake for a local assistant. It is not. When you start a session, DevNestro asks this host for an ephemeral Live token, then the browser opens Gemini Live over a WebSocket. The long-lived API key never enters the page. Audio from your microphone is streamed to Google while the session is connected. The host live model is gemini-2.5-flash by default. There is no claim that the reply is complete, current, or safe to act on without checking.
Why this is worth doing in the browser
Live is rate-limited to three sessions per hour because it is expensive relative to a single text call. If the host has no key, Live is disabled, the browser blocks the microphone, or the token request fails, the page fails closed. It will not invent a conversation or pretend the model is running locally. This is not the Kokoro Text to Speech tool and not the Whisper extractor.
How to use the tool
Confirm that microphone audio may be sent to Google Gemini. Start live voice. Speak. Stop ends the session and releases the microphone. Clear / Start Over drops the on-screen log. DevNestro does not keep a live archive.
- Do not start a session in a room with confidential speech you would not send to Google.
- Stop the session when you are done so the microphone is released.
- A refused start is often a missing key or the hourly live limit.
- Treat spoken answers as unverified.
Privacy
Live audio is sent to Google Gemini. DevNestro does not store the stream. Logs may include feature, model, duration, and status—not the words you said. This is not processed only in your browser. Free-tier training language follows the configured tier.
