Read visible text with Gemini and leave the Tesseract OCR page alone
Printed menus, slide photos, and UI screenshots hide words you want in a notepad. This page sends the image to Gemini and asks for visible text as plain text, approximate structure, or JSON. It is labeled AI-assisted text extraction on purpose. A generative model can skip a line, merge columns, or invent a word that looks plausible. It is not Tesseract, not a certified transcript, and not the existing /tools/ocr route, which still runs locally.
Why this is worth doing in the browser

The two stories stay separate so a privacy-sensitive user is not told the wrong pipeline. Rate limits follow the Files policy.
