Compare files with Gemini and leave the legal stamp off the page
A redline in a law office is a professional product. A model comparing two uploads is a draft. The Multi-File Comparer sends two to five supported files through the Files API and asks for similarities, differences, missing information, and important changes. It will still miss a deleted comma that changes a duty, or invent a “gap” that is only a wording change. The page refuses to call the output a legal opinion, a certified redline, or an official comparison.
Why this is worth doing in the browser
People compare contract versions, policies, and resumes because a side-by-side scroll is tiring. The in-browser Diff Checker already compares text you paste without uploading. Use that when the files can stay local. Use this page only when you accept Google processing and want a prose recap rather than a character diff. Both files leave the machine. Cleanup deletes the temporary Gemini objects after the reply when the API accepts the delete.
How to use the tool
Select at least two files, add optional context such as “resume versus job description,” confirm the cloud warning, and press Compare. Read all four sections. Download TXT if you want a copy. Clear drops the on-screen result.
- Keep the originals open. The model is not a witness.
- Do not treat “missing” as “the other party hid it.”
- Limit the set to the versions you actually need.
- Skip identity documents and sealed filings.
Privacy
Every selected file is sent to Google Gemini. DevNestro does not archive the comparison. Temporary Gemini files are deleted after a successful one-shot run when cleanup succeeds. Free-tier training language follows the configured Gemini tier.
