Your file is processed in your browser and is not uploaded to our server. This is a cleaner photo of the page, not a guaranteed archive scan.
What is a document scanner for photos?
It lets you mark the four corners of a page in a photo, flatten the perspective, apply a light clean-up, and save JPG, PNG, or a multi-page PDF. You can always move the corners. The tool does not force an automatic crop.
How to use it
- Choose or take a JPG, PNG, or WebP photo of one page (max 20 MB).
- Drag the four handles onto the page corners. Reset corners if the suggestion is wrong.
- Pick Original, Clean, Grayscale, Black & White, or High Contrast. Adjust brightness or contrast if the text is still readable.
- Add the page, repeat for more pages, then download or extract text with the local OCR tool.
FAQ
Does this upload my document?
No. The photo is read and flattened in your browser. Extract Text uses the same on-device OCR engine as the OCR tool.
Will every photo become a perfect scan?
No. Creases, glare, and very dark shadows can still hide text. Check the preview before you send the file.
Can I change the automatic corners?
Yes. Suggested corners are only a starting point. Drag any handle, or reset to a simple inset.
What files can I download?
The current page as JPG or PNG, or every page as one PDF named devnestro-document-scan.pdf.
How does Extract Text work?
It passes the flattened page to the existing OCR tool on this site. Text recognition stays in the browser.
Is a phone camera enough?
Often for notes and forms. Hold the phone as square-on as you can and avoid a lamp glare across the ink.
