Number the screenshots instead of writing a novel in chat
A support thread with eight unmarked PNGs is how people click the wrong button. A written SOP without pictures is how they skip a dialog. You want the frames in order, a sentence under each, and a file you can send. Uploading those frames to a “doc AI” also uploads the inbox, the account switcher, and the name in the corner. A local assembler that can black out a rectangle — the same idea as the Screenshot Privacy Redactor — is the right size.
Why this is worth doing in the browser
DevNestro’s Screenshot Guide Maker keeps up to 20 JPG, PNG, or WebP frames in the page. Each step has a title, notes, and an optional hide-box that writes black pixels into the download, not a CSS overlay. Reorder or delete steps. PDF uses the existing pdf-lib stack. HTML is a single file with embedded pictures. ZIP uses the same store-only zipper as PDF to JPG and File Renamer: guide.html plus step-01.png and friends. There is no automatic UI detection and no claim that the guide is complete training. Related Screenshot Privacy Redactor is for a single frame you will share raw. Related Screen Recorder is for video. Related Document Scanner is for paper, not UI chrome.
How to use the tool
Add screenshots, name the steps, drag a hide box if a name or number should not travel, then download PDF, HTML, or ZIP. Open the HTML to check the order before you send it.
- Capture one action per frame.
- Hide emails and account names before you export.
- Use ZIP if the recipient wants the images separately.
- Do not treat this as a substitute for a live walkthrough when the product changes weekly.
Privacy
Screenshots stay in this browser. They are not uploaded to DevNestro and are not sent to analytics as images.
Need eight frames to become a one-pager? Open Screenshot Guide Maker, hide what should stay private, and download PDF or ZIP.
