Turn sample JSON into C#, TypeScript, Java, Python, or Go
A response body is often the fastest spec you have. Generating types from that sample saves the busywork of naming properties and nesting child objects by hand. You still review the output — generated DTOs are a start, not a contract test — but you skip the empty class file. The same sample can draft C# records, TypeScript interfaces, Java POJOs, Python dataclasses, or Go structs without calling a model.
Why this is worth doing in the browser
Hand-written models drift from the JSON the moment a field is added. The DevNestro JSON to Code Generator infers one type tree, then emits language-specific files. C# can be a class or record class, with List, IReadOnlyList, or arrays, init or set, required members, and System.Text.Json, Newtonsoft, or no attributes. TypeScript can be an interface or a type alias, with optional properties and unions for mixed arrays. Java is a minimal POJO, with optional getters and Jackson annotations as text. Python offers dataclass or TypedDict. Go emits structs with json tags. Invalid JSON is not guessed: you get a parse error and a link to the JSON fixer. The old /tools/json-to-csharp address still opens this tool.
How to use the tool
Paste a representative sample, set a root name that matches the feature, choose a language, generate, and copy or download. Rename collisions. Change int to long or decimal when the sample hid the real range. Format broken JSON first.
- Use a payload that includes the nested objects and optional fields you care about.
- Name the root after the feature, not after the word Root, unless you truly want Root.
- Review numeric types, unions, and nullability against a second example payload.
- Commit only after the types match production JSON, not just the first happy-path sample.
Privacy
Inference runs in this browser. Samples are not uploaded, not stored as a DevNestro API catalogue, and not sent to an AI service.
Let the sample draft the types. Open JSON to Code, generate C# or another listed language, and spend your time on the review instead of the boilerplate.
