Improve a draft with Gemini without caching the private text
A grammar pass is most useful when it admits it is probabilistic. DevNestro’s Grammar & Writing Helper reuses the existing Gemini text studio — the same cloud stack as AI Proofreader — to suggest a corrected draft, issue notes, and tone rewrites. It shows the Cloud AI disclosure up front so nobody mistakes the page for an offline spellchecker.
Why this is worth doing in the browser
Students paste essays into sites that promise “100% private grammar” and then discover the draft left the browser. Editors need tone options without a black-box that quietly logs every sentence for marketing. The product rule here is explicit: private writing is not cached by this helper, and it is not sent to analytics as content.
How to use the tool
Paste a draft, choose a preferred rewrite tone, and run the check only when you are comfortable using Gemini. Read every suggestion. Reject “fixes” that flatten dialect, technical terms, or voice you meant to keep. For lighter local text chores, use Case Converter or Word Counter instead.
- Paste only the passage you are ready to send to cloud AI.
- Pick a tone that matches the destination, not a generic “professional” default if the brief is casual.
- Compare the corrected text against your meaning before you accept it.
- Close the tab on a shared computer when the draft should not linger in memory.
Privacy
When you click check, the draft is sent to Google Gemini through DevNestro’s configured Gemini infrastructure. This tool does not keep a server-side cache of your private text for later retrieval. Analytics do not receive the writing body.
