Turn a vague ask into an agent-ready specification
“Make it better” wastes a coding agent. A brief that names the objective, constraints, output shape, and failure cases wastes fewer tokens and fewer reviews. You should not need a paid model to go from a paragraph to those headings. A deterministic builder that uses the first line as the objective and pulls must/should/do-not lines into constraints is a start you can edit, not a mind reader.
Why this is worth doing in the browser
DevNestro’s AI Task Specification Builder runs in the page session without a vendor API. It emits Markdown sections: Objective, Inputs, Constraints, Required Output, Quality Criteria, Edge Cases, Validation, and Examples. JSON export wraps the Markdown with a note that this is not a provider-specific schema. Large pastes over the text limit are refused. Empty input stays empty. Unicode is preserved. Related Notepad holds drafts on the device. Related JSON Formatter pretty-prints the JSON export. Related Prompt Privacy Checker is for stripping secrets before the spec leaves your machine.
How to use the tool
Paste a rough request, build, copy or download Markdown or JSON, then edit examples. Do not send the spec to an agent until you have removed private data.
- Put the goal on the first line.
- Write real constraints; the tool will not invent your security policy.
- Fill the Examples section yourself.
- Run Secret Leak Inspector on the spec if it contains logs.
Privacy
The request is processed in this page session so the result can be shown. It is not stored after you leave and is not sent to analytics as content. No paid model is called.
Stop pasting vague tickets into an agent. Open the Task Specification Builder, export Markdown, and edit the edge cases.
