FAQ
Is my XML uploaded to a server?
No. Parsing, formatting, validation, search, and XPath run in your browser. The file is not uploaded to DevNestro.
Are DTDs or external entities processed?
No. DOCTYPE, ENTITY declarations, XInclude, and external stylesheets are rejected so XXE payloads cannot load files or URLs.
What can the XPath tester run?
Location paths such as /root/item, //title, @id, [1], and [@id='value']. document(), custom functions, and script extensions are blocked.
How large a file can I format?
The default import limit is 20 MB. Larger files are rejected rather than truncated.
How do I convert XML to JSON?
Use Convert to JSON to hand the payload to the Universal Data Converter. This page does not ship a second conversion engine.
Does the tree copy a path?
Yes. Expand a node and copy its XPath, such as /catalog/book[1]/title or /catalog/book[1]/@id.
