Describe a clip with Gemini and keep the local extractor on its own page
A file on disk is easy to treat as a private preview. This page is not the in-browser Video & Audio Text Extractor. When you press Analyze, DevNestro sends the clip to Google’s Gemini Developer API as inline video when it is small, or through the Files API when it is large, then asks generateContent to describe what is visible and audible. The model id is the host text model (gemini-3.5-flash by default). There is no claim that people, brands, or quotes are identified correctly, and there is no forensic certainty.
Why this is worth doing in the browser
People want a video analyzer because a meeting recording or a product demo is slower than a paragraph. Mixing that habit with a local-privacy story is how a visitor uploads a customer call and believes it never left the tab. This route states the opposite: cloud processing, a Files rate limit (five requests per thirty minutes by default), optional free-tier training disclosure, and an instruction to stay with visible and audible facts. The Whisper-based extractor remains the place to keep a file in the browser.
How to use the tool
Pick a focus: describe, events, audio and visual, timestamps, extract, or a question. Upload one supported video. Confirm the file may be sent to Google Gemini. Read the result against the original. Clear / Start Over drops the session copy. Temporary Gemini files are deleted after the reply when cleanup succeeds.
- Do not upload confidential recordings unless you accept Google processing.
- Reject any name, quote, or time you cannot see or hear in the file.
- Use the local Video & Audio Text Extractor if the file should stay in the browser.
- Ask one question at a time when the clip is long.
Privacy
The video is sent to Google Gemini. DevNestro does not keep a video archive. Logs may include token counts and duration, not the clip. If the host uses Gemini’s free API tier, Google’s current terms may allow submitted content to improve Google products. This is not processed only in your browser.
