Make a calendar file you can open anywhere
A meeting time in chat is not a calendar item. Pasting “Thursday 4pm Karachi” into five apps is how daylight saving gets dropped. An .ics file is the boring format every calendar can import. You should not need to connect Google or Microsoft to produce one. You should be able to say the zone by IANA id, mark all-day, repeat weekly, and attach a reminder, then download a file that escapes commas and line breaks so a title like “Dinner, cafe” does not split the event.
Why this is worth doing in the browser
DevNestro’s Calendar Event Maker writes RFC-style iCalendar text in the session. Timed events are converted from the selected IANA zone to UTC timestamps so clients do not depend on a private VTIMEZONE blob. All-day events use DATE values. Recurrence supports daily, weekly, monthly, and yearly RRULE with optional count, until date, and weekdays. Reminders become VALARM display triggers. Commas, semicolons, newlines, and backslashes are escaped; long lines are folded. There is no OAuth, no calendar sync, and no claim that every client will honor every RRULE. The Document Expiry Tracker uses this same writer when you download a reminder.
How to use the tool
Enter a title, pick dates and a zone, optionally set recurrence and a reminder, then download .ics. Open the file in the calendar you already use. Related Time Zone Meeting Planner finds a slot first. Related Document Expiry Tracker turns a renewal date into the same kind of file.
- Prefer IANA ids such as Asia/Karachi over a fixed UTC offset.
- Use all-day for holidays and document expiries.
- Keep titles short; some phones truncate the summary.
- Re-open the file if you edit times. The page does not update a cloud calendar.
Privacy
Event titles, locations, and notes stay in this page session. They are not uploaded to DevNestro, not synced to Google or Microsoft, and not sent to analytics as content.
Need an invite without connecting an account? Open Calendar Event Maker and download the .ics.
